Fenella Humphreys leads a quartet of wonderful players from the Perpetuo Ensemble in our opening concert. Adrian Sutton's Trio Dances was commissioned by the Presteigne Festival and premiered there by Perpetuo in 2021. Fenella has a very close relationship toAdrian's music: she is the dedicatee of his recent violin concerto, which she prem iered last year at a special celebratory South Bank concert. The strings are joined in the rest of the programme by Emma Abbate for the well-known and loved Schumann and Fauré piano quartets.
